Anhydrous CuSO4 has a Grey-White and powdery appearance and pentahydrate have a bright Blue colour. Both hydrated and anhydrous copper sulfate decomposes on heating and therefore do not have an exact boiling point.

When copper sulphate is heated at a temperature of 650 degree Celsius, it undergoes a decomposition reaction. Moreover, Copper sulfate is highly soluble in water.
